Quick! Jump in your car, head to the nearest Dunkin’ Donuts and/or Krispy Kreme shop and get a donut, on the house. Yep, in honor of National Donut Day the two biggest donut chains are giving up the goodies for free.
At Krispy Kreme, there’s no strings or catch, just waltz up to the counter and demand free vittles. Dunkin’ Donuts, however, requires that you purchase a beverage first, which is actually pretty good since their coffees and coolattas aren’t bad. And while you’re there, try their newest confectionery creation: the toffee donut. Get it: toffee for your coffee?
If you’re not into the big boys, you can also try your local mom and pop donut store. While they haven’t advertised, it might be worth a shot to mention that it’s a holiday and see where it gets you. Maybe half off, or a buy-one-get-one-free deal?
