While President Barack Obama addresses labor union members in Detroit on Monday, seasoned songstress Aretha Franklin plans on showing the audience—and the Head of State—how it’s really done.
Apparently, having impeccable swag, and giving what many deem amazing speeches, isn’t all President Barack Obama does when away from the White House. At his last public event in Detroit back in 2008, our president also showed a hinted of having vocal skills.
Humming a few bars of the hit song “Chain of Fools”, with the Queen of Soul in the audience, our very charismatic president had much to live up to. Instead of a surprise performance, on September 5, onlookers can expect Aretha to belt out three of her signature songs, including the one President Obama took a stab at.
The tens of thousands that are expected to attend the festivities of the Labor Day Rally, sponsored by the Metro Detroit Central Labor Council, will probably enjoy Aretha’s rendition better. …But we definitely appreciate your attempt, Barack!
