A choked-up Jackie Christie has announced that her mother lost her battle with cancer this morning.
“I just lost my mother a few hours ago,” Jackie said during a chat on "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" earlier today. “She’s had a long fight with it, and I know she’s in a better place, and it was her time. So, we’re ok with it.”
Fans of “Basketball Wives: LA” have watched as Jackie and her sister discussed their mother’s illness and how once-helpful treatment had started to fail. Jackie only hoped that her mother would be able to hold on until her upcoming annual wedding ceremony.
“She did make it in time for that,” said Jackie who thanked VH1 for its support and having her mother at the wedding.
According to Jackie, despite the fighting and arguing, her mother didn’t have a problem with the show. “My mom, she was okay with it,” Jackie said.
Speaking of mothers and daughters, Jackie also spoke about her daughter, Takari, who tweeted some not-so-nice things about her mother recently.
“She put those malicious stories out there that are so far from the truth, I can’t even begin to fathom it,” shared Jackie who said she’s tried to be a great mom. "She apologized, and we talk every day, and she pretty much has stopped going on her Twitter."
