NeNe Leakes is giving her side of the story about what really went down with that appearance in Philadelphia.
Sunday’s season premiere of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" got off to a contentious start as Sheree Whitfield accused NeNe of plotting to screw her out of some money for an appearance in Philadelphia.
Sheree claimed that the promoter, Tyrone, told her that NeNe tried to strike up a backdoor deal to edge her out of the booking. When NeNe denied that she’d ever had such a chat with Tyrone, Sheree called him to verify.
Although Tyrone claims that he spoke to NeNe directly, she is sticking by her story that he and his people only ever spoke to her former assistant, Diana.
"As a celebrity or a personality or a reality star, or whatever you guys want to call it, I never speak for myself," NeNe insisted to S2S. "If you guys called and wanted me to appear at an event, you wouldn’t talk directly to me. So, the person never spoke to me, they spoke to my assistant, which was Diana."
NeNe was moved to tears at Sheree’s accusations, but as she reiterated to us, there’s no reason for her to try and knock someone else’s hustle. "I don’t need to backdoor anybody on our cast. I do very, very well for myself," NeNe said with a chuckle. "I don’t need to take out of anyone’s pocket. I’m not a shady person … My appearance fee is way higher than [Sheree's]."
She added, "I’m looking at her like, ‘Mm-hmm. B!#ch please! I can put money in your pocket.’"
