Tamar Braxton is sharing her feelings about her mom threatening to "slap the piss" out of her.
The big blow-up on the season 2 premiere of "Braxton Family Values" is still bugging Tamar a bit. Although she now sees where her mom Evelyn Braxton was coming from, she also feels that Evelyn should have tried to understand her a little better.
"I understand why my mother got upset at first, but after I explained why I left [the house in the middle of a group discussion], I thought she would have understood a lil better," Tamar told TheYBF.com. "She’s my mom and if she felt like I was disrespectful, then she had EVERY RIGHT!"
Tamar still loves her mother very much, and for the sake of the relationship, she’s agreed to let the incident go. "It’s not worth it to me to keep bringing it up so it can be blown out of proportion," she explained. "I’m going to chill for now and see how it plays out later."
While things between Tamar and her mom are getting back to normal, Tamar was happy to announce that her hubby Vincent Herbert is doing a lot better after being treated for a pulmonary embolism.
Vince’s recovery couldn’t have come at a better time as the couple is getting ready to celebrate a big milestone.
"Vince and I have been together eight years and married for three. In fact, our three-year anniversary is in two weeks," Tamar revealed, before sharing some of her top relationship tips. "My advice is that you should concentrate on yourself first. If there are dreams and goals that you have, you should focus on them."
Tamar suggests that although women should be willing to put in the effort to make a relationship work, they should not lose themselves for the sake of another.
"Relationships are a lot of work and they completely change after you get married," she said. "I can’t pinpoint how or why, but they do. All my friends are like, ‘My man was this way while we were dating and after we got married it just changed.’ No one told me, but marriage does change everything."
