Ruben Studdard and his wife are going their separate ways.
After three years of wedded bliss, The Velvet Teddy Bear has run out of I’m sorries. TMZ.com reports Ruben filed for divorce from Surata Zuri McCants.
Ruben and Zuri met after he took home the win on season 2 of "American Idol," when he beat out competitor Clay Aiken.
The R&B singer’s camp has confirmed the split, telling TMZ, “Ruben and Zuri have gone their separate ways.” Court documents state that irreconcilable differences"are cited in the split, but his reps won’t comment what those difference may have been.
The couple wed in 2008 after a whirlwind romance. Although he helped Zuri raise her daughter, the pair have no children together.
Neither Ruben nor Zur have commented on the split thus far.
