Beyoncé introduced the world to her baby on Friday’s episode of "20/20."
Beyoncé’s son or daughter may still be weeks away from the big debut, but Bey brought Katie Couric by her New York Production Company, The Parkwood Group. That’s where she sat in an editing room for hours to piece together her most recent DVD, Elements of 4.
"It’s like a puzzle, and it’s like a baby," Bey explained about the editing process. "You have this idea in your head and you have to work so hard and it’s very painful but in the end, you have this amazing thing that lives forever."
Covering all her bases, Beyoncé also produced and directed the DVD, which includes clips from intimate moments of her life. Among them is a clip of Beyoncé and her baby bump behind closed doors. Hopefully that might put an end to any lingering questions about her pregnancy—particularly rumors that she’s sporting a fake baby bump.
"There are certain things that are so far [out] that it doesn’t even upset you," said Beyoncé, who revealed that her mom wasn’t as unfazed by the speculation. "My mother, she’s like, ‘Nobody’s talking about my grandbaby! My grandbaby’s not even here yet!’"
She added, "My mom is really protective and so is my sister, but I’m cool. It’s so ridiculous and over the top."
But everyone wanted to know whether the "Best Thing I Never Had" singer would be popping out a boy or girl. Kelly Rowland let it slip that Beyoncé and Jay-Z will be welcoming a daughter.
Which would Bey prefer, though? "I don’t care. I’m just like everyone else," said Beyoncé, who just wants a healthy baby. "And now I know why people say that. It’s true."
Hov can’t wait to meet his child either! When asked how Jay feels about fatherhood, Beyoncé shared, "You can only imagine and multiply that. It’s like the time can’t come fast enough."
Beyoncé will have to put in quite a bit of work, to drop the baby weight after the new addition to their family arrives because she’s got to get to work on A Star Is Born. Although she’s excited about the role, she’s a little less amped about the workouts, admitting, "I’m not looking forward to that ’cause I’ve been having a good time."
