BET’s "Rising Icons" premiere party looked more like a celebrity house party!
Who knew that a taping of BET’s newest series, "Rising Icons," would bring out the glitterati of Black America? Keri Hilson was honored by the network with part one of the two-part series (the second part will film in August, but there’s no word on who the honoree is).
Besides Keri, "It" couple The Dream and Christina Milian came out to support her, plus former BET VJ Free (remember her from the original "106 & Park?") and the network’s newer faces, Rocsi and Terrance J, made appearances. Idris Elba, umm, sorry, we meant Big Driis helped the DJ out on the 1′s and 2′s, Ryan Leslie winked at the camera, and our hometown hero Wale also showed love to R&B’s newest icon.
You must know by now that we love nearly everything that Keri throws on her back, and this white-blazer-gray-jeans look is no exception. And that pop of color in the form of a bright yellow earring?! Perfect.
Do you think this year’s Comic-Con convention over in San Diego inspired Dream and C. Mili? They both wore tees with graphic, cartoonish prints.
We can’t see much of what Free is wearing, so we’ll leave her brown and cream polka dot dress alone. We’re happy to see that her trademark blond ‘fro is still in place, however.
Gold lamé is not easy to pull off, but Rocsi does it with these blinging shorts. She kept her top simple, which is really the key to pulling off anything with glitter. Wale kept it simple with a polo shirt and dark denim…can’t go wrong with that!
Ryan Leslie was casually debonair in his motorcycle jacket, white tee and black jeans, while DJ Big Driis (aka Idris Elba) decided to get funky and sport oversized glasses with his teal blue and brown jacket (is that a wind jacket?!).
What was your favorite look of the evening?
