Octavia Spencer has wrapped up award season with the biggest win of her career.
Octavia was overwhelmed as it was announced Sunday that she had won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in The Help.
"Thank you Academy for putting me with the hottest guy in the room," Octavia opened once she regained her composure. The actress looked stellar in her gathered, white Tadashi Shoji gown as she rushed to thank her families in Alabama and Los Angeles, Steven Spielberg and agents.
Octavia only had a moment to get out all of her thank yous, and she actually asked producers to give her the wrap-up cue. "I’m sorry, I’m freaking out," she explained in excitement.
This is her fourth and biggest honor of award season in which she also collected SAG, Critic’s Choice and Golden Globe Awards.
Unfortunately, co-star Viola Davis did not get the Oscar for Best Actress, but she was there to offer her congratulations to Octavia just seconds before she mounted the stage.
