Nia Crooks could be locked up for slapping "Basketball Wives" star Jennifer Williams.
TMZ.com reports that Nia, Evelyn Lozada’s assistant, has been charged with misdemeanor battery charges for hitting Jen during an altercation in January. Broward County officials decided to
The whole thing was caught on tape, but the incident wasn’t broadcast until the April 16 episode of "Basketball Wives." Jennifer announced later that week that she had already pressed charges for the attack.
The Broward County State Attorney’s office filed charges against Nia on April 10 after Jen filed a criminal complaint. If convicted, Nia could get up to a year in jail for the attack.
Nia has yet to comment on the charges, but cast members are not happy that Jen waited so long to file suit. They feel she drew out the process to surround herself with enough controversy to secure herself a spot on season 5 of "Basketball Wives."
Producers are also very upset with Jen for how she’s handled the aftermath of the attack. “Filing broad lawsuits when you are as much to blame for the drama, is not the way to get your contract extended," a source told TMZ.
But last Monday’s episode of "Basketball Wives" only showed half the battle. Tonight’s show will let fans see what happened after Evelyn jumped across the table for Jen.
Apparently that wasn’t the only time she tried to lay hands on her former BFF. "I don’t see anything else other than Jennifer being my target and me trying to f*cking rip her head off," Evelyn confessed.
