Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones stormed back into theaters this weekend to claim #1 at the box office.
Though it didn’t hit the $75 million mark projected domestically yet, Men In Black 3 still made an impressive showing. According to BoxOfficeMojo.com, the film raked in $55 million in ticket sales for opening weekend. Of course, these numbers do not include ticket sales for Memorial Day at this time.
Even with $55 million it knocked The Avengers, which made just over $36.9 million this weekend, out of the top spot. Battleship, starring Rihanna, rounded out the top 3 with $10.8 million in ticket sales.
