Some hoped it was just a rumor, but co-hosts Rocsi Diaz and Terrence J confirmed yesterday that they’re leaving “106 & Park.”
“There’s been a lot of talk. It’s been all over the place and honestly it’s been premature because we haven’t decided until now,” Terrence said on the show. “After an amazing seven years of being on this show, we have decided together that we will soon be leaving ‘106 & Park’ as your hosts.”
A clearly emotional Rocsi fought back tears as she thanked God and the show’s fans for the opportunity to host the show.
“We’ve only been able to accomplish everything that it was because we’ve always put God first in our lives,” said Rocsi. “We had no idea, and we can’t even express how amazing the seven years has been. We appreciate you guys so much.”
Although the two are saying good-bye to the show, Terrence indicated that he’d be more than willing to continue his relationship with BET.
“We’re looking forward to continuing our relationship. Ain’t no way we’re giving up the keys to the door, not just yet,” Terrence said.
Past “106 & Park” hosts, Free and AJ, who also left the show together, have returned to the network occasionally to host different special events. Free is currently a radio personality in Washington, D.C., and AJ is a correspondent for "Extra TV."
Like their predecessors, Rocsi and Terrence were virtual unknowns before signing on to host "106," but their celebrity appears to be opening more doors for them.
Both hosts are focused on their acting careers; Terrence just co-starred in Think Like a Man, a film that topped the movie box office.
Although they’re working on other ventures, the two promised not to leave their “106 & Park” fans hanging while they soldier on toward their last show.
“Until the moment we leave, we pledge to continue to bring young Black culture to you guys daily in a way you’ve never seen anywhere else,” said Rocsi, who didn’t announce the duo’s end date. However, Terrence teased that they’ll be getting a big send-off.
“We’re going to be leaving with a bang,” Terrence said. “We have a huge, huge, farewell for you guys.”

Will "106 & Park" join these other BET series that were gone too soon? Take a look.
