NeNe Leakes feels that she’s grown as a person since season 1 of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” and her “Basketball Wives” counterparts might need to do the same.
“The truth is the truth. It has just gone too far. Too many fights, my God!” said NeNe, who pointed out that her cast members have never resorted to throwing ‘bows.
“We don’t do that. We definitely have had our verbal fights, but never physical fights. I can’t believe the fighting and the bullying. It looks bad. It really looks bad,” said NeNe, who is a friend of “BBW” star Jennifer Williams.
NeNe isn’t opposed to an animated verbal exchange now and again, but she seems to draw the line at physical assault, in part because that’s not a wise business move.
“They can’t want to do too much in their careers. A good ole argument, everybody likes that every now and then to tune into, but you couldn’t be trying to have too much in your career because that stuff, it don’t work. You can’t represent a product and be that way. That just doesn’t work,” she explained to Vibe.
Although NeNe is currently taping for season 5 of “RHOA,” the breakout star of the series feels she’s outgrown it.
“You gotta have drama and entertainment, but some of the stuff has driven me insane. I do really think that it’s personal growth. It’s almost like being in a relationship and you’re like, ‘I done taken all I can take and I can’t take no more,’” she said.
However, for now, NeNe remains part of the “Housewives” franchise while working on other projects, such as Fox’s “Glee” and “The New Normal” on NBC.
“Why leave the show when you can still do the show and you can still do ‘The New Normal’? So we’re going to see how doing everything works. We’ll see what happens,” she said.
