Aretha Franklin’s got a degree from Princeton!
Yeah, you read it right! Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, can now add an honorary doctorate degree from Princeton University to her mantelpiece.
Yesterday, the music legend received her honorary Doctorate of Music from the university, and she was all smiles while she was doing it.
According to TheYBF.com, Princeton University Orator and Trustee Stephen Oxman said Aretha’s performance style was “impeccably bold and fearless”.
He went on to say, “With her singular ‘Amazing Grace’, she continues to traverse musical bridges over troubled water, and by reminding us to think, do right and call on her, the Queen of Soul will forever command the world’s R-E-S-P-E-C-T.”
Congrats, Aretha!
