Toya Wright is taking a break from her busy life as a business owner, spokeswoman and author to celebrate her one-year anniversary with hubby MeMpHiTz.
“Our one-year anniversary is coming up. We’re going to Paris,” Toya recently told Sister 2 Sister.
Although fans don’t get to see her weekly on reality TV anymore, Toya isn’t just sitting back being a housewife. She’s hustling, as usual.
“I kind of got out of my BET deal,” Toya said. “Right now, I’m going to launch my new website, EverythingToya.com, and I’m going to have webisodes to let my fans know what’s going on with me right now.”
What’s going on with Toya includes a new book—a sequel to her New York Times bestseller, Priceless Inspirations—and a new salon opening in New Orleans next month.
“I love health and beauty—anything dealing with getting glammed up. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. Instead of just having a nail salon, I wanted to add flavor to it. It’s a childhood dream,” she said.
“Tiny & Toya” fans might remember Toya trying her hand as a fashion stylist. Since then she’s opened a boutique, Garb, in New Orleans, and the glam loft will be right upstairs from Garb.
“You can get manicures, pedicures and waxing. You can shop up there. You can get full-service makeup. We sell novelty items. It’s like a real nice, exclusive spot in the city. It’s really, really elegant. It’s a loft where you can get all of these things done,” Toya said. “You can shop and sip some champagne and wine or whatever.”
Toya is also planning to launch a new line with Wal-Mart that’s scheduled to hit stores in September.
“It’s just a very nice, affordable collection. We’re bringing something different. The inspiration for the line is just the love of fashion and love of life. When you wake up in the morning and you get dressed … me, when I get dressed, I dress how I feel. So, if it’s a fun day, I’m putting on something fun and cute, and that’s just how my clothing line is. It’s very fun and affordable,” she explained.
After launching all her business ventures, Toya said she and MeMpHiTz might focus on another goal: adding to their family.
“I think next year,” Toya said about having another child. “I want to enjoy a year of just us, and then we’ll start working on that. I’m still trying to get some things off the ground and together and done first.”
