Jennifer Hudson has reportedly had second thoughts about marrying her “I Love New York” fiancé David Otunga.
“Jennifer started feeling like it just wasn’t right,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “Jennifer and David quietly called off the wedding a few months ago and she even returned her ring to him.”
There were rumors that the two had split, but Jennifer quickly refuted the gossip and assured fans that the two would wed. Following the conviction of William Balfour, the man who killed her brother, mother and nephew, Jennifer was reportedly ready to get the show on the road.
However, it seems the stress of the trial may have caused Jennifer to question the union altogether.
“She was extremely stressed out and processing a lot of emotions about the murder of her family after the trial ended,” said the source.
Jennifer was also reportedly looking to the universe for signs.
“So many bad things have happened since they got engaged in 2008 that have prevented them from finally getting married, and she was worried that she was just trying too hard to make something happen that wasn’t meant to be,” said the source.
In the past, Jennifer has credited David with saving her life. The week her relatives were murdered, the wrestler requested that Jennifer come visit him instead of going to see her family in Chicago. Had she been in Chicago, it’s possible Jennifer may have met the same fate as her mother, brother and nephew.
“After things settled down, she realized that he was her rock and that she wanted to spend her life with him,” said the source, who confirmed that the two are back to planning their nuptials.
