Lil’ Wayne recently debuted his latest single "Prom Queen," not on the radio, but on AT&T’s Facebook page.
Fans that logged on to either of the phone company’s Facebook pages between 12 and 1 a.m. EST on Wednesday morning were treated to a live stream of the tattooed rapper performing his new song for the first time ever.
It is the first time Wayne has ever debuted new music this way, and it’s the first time many fans will hear a taste of his new rocker style.
Wayne’s forthcoming LP, Rebirth, will feature rock-style drums, bass and guitars, said Infamous, one half of the production team that created "Prom Queen." He told Billboard.com that Wayne has "done everything he can with hip-hop and has proven himself. Now he’s about to prove himself as a rocker."
The ringtone for "Prom Queen" is now available until February 2 exclusively to AT&T customers by texting "Wayne" to 7317. Watch his performance on AT&T’s Mobile Music Scene Facebook page.
