Maya Angelou’s camp is clearing up reports that she landed in the hospital over the weekend.
News that the legendary poet had been taken to a Los Angeles area hospital broke on TMZ.com Saturday night. There was no word on on what ailed Maya, who, TMZ stated, was in the city to be honored at the BraveHeart Awards.
There were two big problems with TMZ’s reports: According to her reps, Maya was never in L.A. this weekend and she was not rushed to the hospital. CNN even announced that she was doing just fine.
So, thankfully, we get to hold onto the national treasure that is Maya for a little longer.
