Season 4 of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” ended with a lot of drama between the show’s stars, and season 5 will be about working through it, according to Cynthia Bailey.
“The last time you saw us was the reunion and it got a little heated. Let’s just say that you definitely want to follow us into the next season because we had a lot of stuff to resolve,” she told Ebony.
By the end of season 4, the cast members had separated into two camps: Team Smalls and Team Talls. Cynthia, a former model, was a member of the Talls team, but she’s not confirming whether or not fellow runway walker Kenya Moore has joined.
“We’re presently shooting and there may or may not be a couple of new housewives in the mix,” she said.
It’s been reported that Toya Wright and Keshia Knight Pulliam joined the cast for season 5, but both celebs have denied the rumors.
While the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” have few qualms about telling it like it is and arguing on camera, the ladies haven’t yet come to blows like some of their reality TV counterparts.
However, she didn’t pass judgment on the women who get physical for reality TV.
“I think there’s an audience for all of these different shows. Some people are going to relate to the ‘Housewives’ and some people are going to relate to ‘Love & Hip Hop,’ and some women are going to relate to ‘Basketball Wives.’ It’s all very individual,” she said.
Cynthia didn’t speak directly about calls to boycott “Basketball Wives” or the outrage that many Black celebs have expressed about the shows’ depictions of minority women, but she offered a simple solution to displeased viewers.
“My opinion is that if I don’t feel comfortable watching, I just turn the channel,” she said.
