Two attendees were removed from Tampa’s convention center after reportedly throwing peanuts at a Black camerawoman who works for CNN, and yelling at her, “This is how we feed animals.”
CNN confirmed the incident—which was also witnessed by several RNC attendees—in a statement letter to The Huffington Post yesterday. The network refused to release any more details about the incident.
The convention released a statement as well. It read: “Two attendees tonight exhibited deplorable behavior. Their conduct was inexcusable and unacceptable. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated.”
The convention, delayed a day by Tropical Storm Isaac, began with its first full session on Tuesday and will continue through Thursday when Mitt Romney will likely accept the party’s nomination as its presidential candidate.
This incident comes at a particularly bad time for the Republican Party, which according to The Huffington Post, currently holds a 0% share of the Black vote.
No word has been released yet on whether or not the two attendees were arrested.

Are you shocked that the attendees would resort to such behavior? If you’re a Black Republican, do stories like this make it hard for you to justify your party affiliation, or are these just isolated incidents that don’t reflect on the party? Leave your comments below.
