Kenya Bell is officially off the basketball wives’ team as her divorce from former NBA star Charlie Bell is now final.
Charlie filed to end their marriage last year after Kenya allegedly broke into their home and attacked him with a box cutter. She pled guilty to a misdemeanor domestic violence charge to avoid jail time, and ever since then, the two have been in a nasty battle over money.
According to TMZ, Charlie wanted spousal support since Kenya had recently become the breadwinner of the family; but, nonetheless, Kenya made out pretty well in the split.
Here’s how TMZ broke it down: Neither will have to pay spousal support. The two will share custody of their two daughters, but Charlie will have to pay $1,000 a month in child support.
Kenya walked away with $780,000 in cash, plus half of $670,000 from another one of Charlie’s accounts. She also got half of everything from Charlie’s NBA 401k plan, NBA retirement plan, NBA pension, NBA welfare plan and NBA supplement benefit plan, according to TMZ.
Kenya also got the home the two shared in Michigan, and the home purchased for her parents. Charlie was left with their condo in Vegas and the home he bought for his parents.
Who says all divorces end in a mess? Kenya’s probably laughing all the way to the bank on this one.
With Kenya’s divorce final, she joins co-stars Jennifer Williams and Shaunie O’Neal as a former NBA wife.
