Beyoncé steps up her game

    Beyoncé is the latest star to hop on the video game bandwagon with her new commercial for Nintendo’s "Rhythm Heaven."

    She’s pushing–um, promoting the Nintendo DSi and a new game called Rhythm Heaven. Players can tap out a rhythm on the handheld system’s touch screen to make different characters do different things. 

    Commercials make the game look simple enough, but we can see how Rhythm Heaven could get to be a little addictive, like those pesky sudoku puzzles.

    Anyway, Queen B tried her hand at the game while taping a TV spot for Nintendo. Shocker, directing the choir was her favorite thing to do.

    "First of all, whoever thought of the game: Genius," said Bey.  "The characters, when you mess up, make this expression like, ‘what are you doing?’ And I think whenever you’re doing harmony and one person messes up, that’s how you feel.  You usually don’t show it, but they definitely show it. "

    Beyoncé had a very special co-star for the commercial.  She said the TV spot is pretty true-to-life for what she likes to do in her spare time.

    "I got to play it with my nephew, Juelz.  He didn’t want to share though; he was having too much fun," Bey laughed. "Usually, whenever I have down time, I want to spend it with him. …It’s great to kind of share a piece of something so intimate with everyone."

    Although the game doesn’t come out until April 5, Nintendo is already starting to create a buzz for the game by releasing  a seven-minute behind-the-scenes video of the commercial shoot.
