Smells like spring spirit

It’s April! Time to lay down the warm and heavy fragrances of winter and pick up something light, airy and full of promise. We selected four that we think are wearable, pretty and (most importantly) inexpensive.

Cashmere Vanilla Jasmine Eau de Parfum by Victoria’s Secret
($45 for a limited time, Victoria’s Secret). This is one of four new scents that the lingerie company created to invoke the essence of their underwear goodies. It sounds heavenly with hints of vanilla from France, Mediterranean flowers and Jasmine straight from India.

    Rock Princess by Vera Wang
($45, Sephora). Building on her really cute Princess fragrance, Vera’s introduced a bolder, edgier version this spring. The tone is seductive and lush, but still keeps with the fruity and floral notes of the original.

Laughter Solid Perfume Compact by Space.NK ($45, Space.NK). Solid perfume’s amazing for touch-ups during the day, or for anyone that doesn’t want their clothes to smell fruity after many, many washes. Laughter is alcohol-free and beeswax based, so it’s a little on the eco-friendly side, plus it doubles as a sort of pomade for the skin.

    Halle by Halle Berry
($35, Sears). We can’t descibe it any better than the mistress of scents herself. She told WWD "With Halle, I added olibanum, which is an African root, which brings spice to the fragrance, and sandalwood, which smooths everything out and makes it yummy. It’s very sensual, very natural, very much reflective of the outdoors."
