Gladys Knight is the latest name that Tyler Perry has attached to his next film, I Can Do Bad All By Myself.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gladys is going to play a neighborhood mama named Wilma who sings at Marshall Baptist Church.
I Can Do Bad All By Myself will be based off of Tyler’s gospel play by the same name, and it centers on what happens when Madea discovers three teens robbing her house.
The teens are sent off to live with their hard-partying aunt, played by Taraji P. Henson. Although Taraji is the star of the movie, Mary J. Blige recently came onto the project to play her best friend.
Filming for I Can Do Bad All By Myself has already begun at Tyler’s studios in Atlanta, and the movie is slated for a September 11 release.
