Chris Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, has a little more time to work out a plea deal now that Chris’ arraignment has been pushed back to this afternoon.
The "Forever" singer was due in a court this morning, but the arraignment was postponed at the last minute during talks to work out a plea deal, according to E! Online. There is no word on the progress of those talks, but Mark is trying to make a deal that would keep Chris out of prison.
The arraignment is now set for 3 p.m. today. If a deal cannot be reached, TMZ.com reports that Chris will plead not guilty to felony charges of assault and making criminal threats, which stem from his alleged fight with Rihanna on February 8.
Although Rihanna’s camp has said that she is cooperating with the case, she won’t be in court to offer details about what happened that morning. In fact, she won’t be anywhere in the states when Chris enters court because she has returned to Barbados.
UsMagazine.com reports that she flew home, after a quick stop in Hawaii, to help her grandparents celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
“I’m happy to have her home. Things are good with her," Rihanna’s dad, Ronald Fenty told Us. "She is doing really, really well. She’s back to herself again."
