Darius Rucker nominated for CMT Award

    Darius Rucker’s countrification is complete. The former Hootie & the Blowfish lead singer has just been announced as a first-round finalist for the 2009 Country Music Television Music Awards.

    The video for “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It," from Darius’ chart-topping country debut album Learn to Live, was one of eight Male Video of the Year nominees. Other nominees include clips from Keith Urban (Nicole Kidman’s boo) and Toby Keith.

    Wayne Isham is also nominated for Director of the Year for his work with Darius on "Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It" and "It Won’t Be Like This For Long."

    The CMT’s are a "fan-voted award show;" so in order for Darius to make it to the final round, his fans have to head over to CMT.com and cast their votes. Voting is available from now through Monday, May 11, after which date CMT will announce the top four finalists. Fans can then continue to vote among the four until Monday, June 15.
