Our faves were saved this week on "Dancing WIth The Stars."
Kim and Derek kicked off the show with their Jailhouse Jive. This was the second week in a row that couple started the results show with their dance. We guess that’s just the perks of taking the top spot and having the best performance on Monday night.
For Tuesday, Kim reprised her role as a prison guard chasing after one of her rowdy inmates. Again, we’re not going to make any jokes about that, or the fact that she was dancing to Elvis’ "Jailhouse Rock"—we’ll leave that up to y’all. But we’d be lying if we said the concept didn’t have us falling off the couch. Hmm…we wonder where she drew inspiration from for this performance.
Anyway, Kim and Derek did a great job (as usual). It wasn’t hard to see how they earned the top spot on this week’s leader board, knocking off golden couple Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke. While Cheryl is our girl, it was good to see the Queen Bee reign supreme this week.
"It always feels good to be number one, but I’m not taking anything for granted," Kim said. "I’m still gonna work hard and stay at the number one spot."
The stars will have a new challenge next week: They’ll be designing the costumes for next week’s dance.
Lawrence said he’d like to see Edyta a little more covered, especially since his mama will be watching next week’s show. That news didn’t inspire Edyta’s confidence.
"I don’t think Lawrence knows anything about costume design," she said while waiting for him outside the designer’s workshop.
Kim had some more creative ideas for Derek’s outfit next week.
"I’m gonna put him in a top hat and rhinestones and a pimp cup," she joked. Personally, we’d tune in just to see how he’d rock that.
But when asked what she honestly had in mind Kim said, "I don’t know, I could put that boy in a paper bag and he’d still look hot."
Derek only had one wardrobe no-no. "As long as she doesn’t give me her pasties, I’m fine."
But when it came time to start saving the stars, Kim and Lawrence (6th place) were the first in line. They faced the firing squad together, which gave us flashbacks from last week’s dance-off between Larry and David Alan Grier.Thankfully they were both saved from elimination, which means we could breath easy.
Sadly, someone had to go home, and that was our favorite wild boy Steve-O. (Say it ain’t so! Why Steve-O?) Hopefully they’ll bring him and David back for color commentary because they were too much fun to watch.
While we’re sad to see Steve-O go, we were especially disappointed because his departure meant his partner, Lacey Schwimmer, was also off the show (we loved us some Lacy on "So You Think You Can Dance").
Be sure to tune in to see the remaining dancers battle it out when "Dancing With The Stars" airs April 20 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
