Atlanta housewife Kandi Burruss had a weekend that ended with a loved one in the intensive care unit.
Kandi told S2S that tragedy struck while she and AJ (her fiancé) had some young relatives over the house this past weekend. Among them were her cousins, AJ’s son and his nephew, who was only identified as Tony.
“We let them go out and they were hit head-on by a drunk driver,” she wrote in an email to us. “His nephew is still in the hospital in critical condition. I feel so terrible.”
Thankfully, Kandi said that it looks like he’ll make it, but that doctors did have to drain fluid from Tony’s brain.
Kandi is still shooting for the upcoming season of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but there is no word on whether this incident will appear on the show. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kandi, AJ and their family at this very difficult time.
The singer-songwriter has also been preparing for her role in a play called “The Pocket Book Monologues.” She’ll be sharing the stage with fellow housewife Lisa Wu-Hartwell, along with Deelishis, and Taj Johnson-George of SWV. Kandi said that proceeds from the ticket sales will go to charity.
Kandi has also been super-busy negotiating the terms of her solo deal with Capitol Records. You know, that one we told you about forever ago. Anyway, from what she told us, it looks like she’ll be using that to help a sister out.
“I also have a young singer/songwriter that I might be gettin a deal for as well,” Kandi told S2S.
Elsewhere in Atlanta, two other housewives got it cracking on Monday, Bossip.com reports. Their source said that it all went down in the Atlantic Station mall when Nene Leakes and Kim Zolciak came to blows.
According to Bossip, Nene had been dropped off outside of a store called Taste, which is owned by Bow Wow’s mother, and was signing autographs. Not too long after that, Kim Zolciak pulled up in a white Bentley and an argument ensued. The fight continued to get more heated until they eventually began slapping each other; Nene even tried to pull Kim’s weave out.
Expect to see the scrap on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” as camera crews for the show were there to catch the whole thing.
