‘Sunday Best’ gets a makeover, literally

You may be able to come as you are to church, but when you come to win "Sunday Best," the gospel-themed reality competition on BET, you better come correct. Design Essentials, a haircare company, has dispatched 11 stylists–nine beauticians and two barbers–to hook up the heads of the "Sunday Best" cast.

"We selected some of our most talented professionals to work with "Sunday Best" and we are very excited about the opportunity that this presents for both the contestants and the stylists," said Sholanda McBride Armstrong, director of marketing for McBride Research Laboratories, Design Essentials’ parent company.  "Design Essentials partners with stylists to promote entrepreneurship and business success through education and strategic guidance. The relationships and experiences that the style team will take away from this show make the competition a life changing experience for them as well."

Judges for the show include BeBe Winans and Erica and Tina Campbell of Mary Mary with Kirk Franklin taking over hosting duties. But don’t expect any of them to get makeovers from the company (not that they need them, anyway).

Design Essentials will be posting the results of the makeovers this month on their Facebook page, along with information on the salons that created the look. And speaking of Facebook, hit us up on our page while you’re at it.

Catch the show every Sunday at 9 p.m. EST on BET.
