The Clipse’s ex-manager has been arrested on charges that he lead a $10 million drug ring.
Now, Anthony “Geezy” Gonzalez faces an 82-count indictment for drug trafficking, The Virginian-Pilot reports. He’s accused of heading up the ring, which allegedly distributed more than 100 pounds of cocaine and over a ton of marijuana throughout seven states, since 2003. The drugs had also been shipped to parts of South America.
Geezy turned himself in to Miami Police on April 28, and he’s set to appear before a federal magistrate this afternoon. He’ll be indicted on the charges in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
An unidentified police officer has also been linked to the drug ring. Cops say the operation was run out Anthony’s Encore Lounge, a nightclub in Norfolk, Virginia, for at least six years.
The 60-page indictment states that Geezy bought the nightclub back in 2007 for 40 pounds of weed and around $80,000 in drug money. However, that may have just been used as a cover up. Court documents state that Anthony and his accomplices made "themselves out as music producers, rappers, entrepreneurs, club owners, clothing designers and other legitimate occupations in order to conceal the true source of their income."
