Akon’s got Grammys on his mantle and 23 hit singles, including "Locked Up," to his name. Now the rapper will add "cosmetics mogul" to his resume.
He’s launching Konvict Cosmetics Intl. later on this year, and the debut fragranes will be Konvict and Aliaune, reports WWD. That second one is inspired by his real name, Aliuane "Akon" Thiam.
The scents will be available on the company’s website in August, and, if all goes well, in department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom.
The two fragrances are intended for two different audiences, with Aliaune appealing to the grown and sexy set and Konvict to the PYTs out there. Each will retail for $35.
Now the only questions are who will be the next rapper to sell fragrances? And is there already an Eau de Soulja Boy in the works?
