Suspect arrested in Dolla’s shooting death

A suspect has been arrested for the shooting death of Akon’s protégé, Dolla.

The New York Daily News reports that a Georgia man, Aubrey Louis Berry, suspected of gunning down the rapper was booked Tuesday.
Aubrey allegedly shot Dolla in the head Monday afternoon outside the Beverly Center mall in West Hollywood. Aubrey fled the scene, but police were able to get a description of him.
The suspected shooter was arrested less than two hours later after an officer spotted him at LAX airport.
"He was carrying a loaded firearm in the ticketing area when officers walked up and said ‘Do you know what this is all about,’” said Sgt. Jim Holcomb of the Los Angeles World Airports Police. “He got up, and said ‘Yes I do. I have a gun in my waistband, don’t shoot."
A woman claiming to be Aubrey’s girlfriend was questioned in the case, but it’s not clear what her link to the shooting may be. Cops also investigated a rental car that was returned to a Hertz parking lot at LAX. Police said it may be the getaway car Aubrey used after the shooting.
Dolla had been in L. A. working on a new album with Konvict Muzik at the time of his death. No motive in the shooting has been announced yet
