Rihanna will be taking the stand against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
“Entertainment Tonight” reports that she was subpoenaed to testify against Chris on June 22.
"By pre-arrangement with the District Attorney, Rihanna was served Tuesday June 9, 2009, at my office with a subpoena to appear at the preliminary hearing,” her lawyer, Donald Etra said. "If that hearing does go forward, Rihanna will appear and will answer all questions posed to her by the District Attorney and Mark Geragos, Chris Brown’s lawyer."
In that case, Rihanna will be telling her side of the story very soon because Mark’s bid to delay the hearing has been denied, according to E! Online. The appeals court did not give any specific reason for shooting down his request.
Mark had wanted to put a hold on the case, arguing that leaked photos of Rihanna’s injuries compromised his ability to defend Chris. This hearing will determine whether or not the felony assault case will go to trial. If Chris is found guilty he faces either probation or up to 4 years and 8 months in prison.
