Michael Jackson will be stopping by Neverland Ranch one last time.
The Santa Barbara Sherriff’s Department told the E! News that a public memorial service for the fallen icon is in the works. Insiders close to family confirm that it will happen sometime this weekend and that Michael’s body might be laying in state.
A public viewing is scheduled for Friday and there will also be a private memorial service on Sunday, but no specific times for either of those have been announced.
Although the memorials will be held at Neverland, Joe Jackson father has said the singer’s body won’t be buried there. He said that he wants the service to be an appropriate salute to his son.
Police told E! that they would be on hand for the events to act largely as crowd control.
Michael brothers Jackie, Jermaine and Tito have been spotted at the ranch over the last few days. A delivery truck that appeared to be dropping boxes off was also seen there.
The truck driver didn’t specifically say why he was at Neverland, but he noted that he was dropping things off. The lawyer representing Michael’s parent, L. Londell McMillan, told CNN that movers have been hired to make sure looters don’t take any of the singer’s things.
