La Toya Jackson is speaking out on how Michael Jackson’s kids immediately reacted to his death and what she really thinks happened to her brother.
The reality TV star said she was driving to the hospital where Michael was taken when she heard the news, according to the Daily Mail.
“I nearly crashed my car. My legs went weak. I couldn’t press down on the gas pedal. I got to the wrong entrance at the hospital and was begging the security guys to help me and take my car because I was so weak and faint,” she recalled. “They took me up to the area where Michael had been taken.”
After she arrived, she recalled that her mother was sitting with the kids when Paris demanded to see her father, which a nurse said would help them come to terms with the fact that their dad had died.
“The kids had been screaming and crying, but once they were in that room and saw Michael they stopped and became calm. We said prayers over him,” La Toya said. That’s when she and her other brother Randy led the children to the small room Michael’s body was in.
“We hugged and kissed him and the children lifted up his hands. He didn’t look like he was gone. His eyes were half open and he looked like he was sleeping. He wasn’t cold,” La Toya shared. “Paris was holding his hand. We were all sitting around the bed. “
Everyone who saw the end of Michael’s memorial remembers his daughter’s heart-wrenching message to the world. But during the family’s private ceremony, she left her father with a final gift. La Toya said the girl got a mood necklace in the shape of heart that broke into two pieces, and she gave one half to Michael.
“She carefully wrapped it around his wrist. She said,’Daddy this is for you.’ Then she placed it on him and said, ‘On Daddy, it will be blue because he is cold. On me, it’s purple,’” La Toya recounted. “[Then] she got some colored stones and she decorated his body.”
Now, the Jacksons are waiting for the exact cause of Michael’s death to be determined, but La Toya has her own ideas about what really happened to him.
"I believe Michael was murdered, I felt that from the start. Not just one person was involved, rather it was a conspiracy of people,” she stated. "He was surrounded by a bad circle. Michael was a very meek, quiet, loving person. People took advantage of that. People fought to be close to him, people who weren’t always on his side."
La Toya never named anyone specifically in her brother’s shocking demise, but she did refer to a “shadowy entourage” that she feels kept feeding Michael’s alleged addiction to prescription drugs.
"They got him hooked on drugs. He was pure and clean, and then drugs came back into his system. I think it shocked his system so much it killed him,” she claims. “Michael was worth more than a billion dollars. When anyone is worth that much money, there are always greedy people around them. …He was worth more dead than alive.”
Admittedly, she had her doubts about whether Michael would actually have survived to perform his 50-show gig at London’s O2 Arena, which she doesn’t really believe was his idea. She also charges that the people that she thinks forced Michael to do the shows were also the ones who cut him off from his family during the grueling practice schedule for the concerts.
"It’s impossible even for a healthy person to do that many shows. Michael was fragile. He always wanted to believe the best of people. But he was meek,” La Toya explained. “They worked him so hard. There was no breathing room. Every hour was packed with costume fittings, vocal lessons, rehearsals. Even Paris noticed. She told me, ‘They worked Daddy too hard.’”
La Toya has vowed that she won’t rest until she finds out what, or who, killed Michael. She’s also threatened legal action once the guilty party is discovered. In the meantime, the rest of the Jacksons have declined to comment on her statements to the Daily Mail.
