Dave Chappelle draws thousands

Thousands came out to see Dave Chappelle return to the stage for a free show in Oregon on Wednesday.

The “Chappelle’s Show” star put the word out on Facebook and Twitter that he’d be doing a free show at Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland, Oregon around midnight. According to the Associated Press, Dave only thought that about 200 people would show up, so he was surprised to see that thousands had gathered to see him crack some jokes when arrived at 1 a.m.

He must have forgotten how popular he is and how quickly things get around online.

Unfortunately, there were a few sounds problems. Since he didn’t expected so many fans to come out, he only brought a small amplifier, so most people couldn’t hear him. He announced that someone from his crew would go find a better speaker, but there was no power to make them work.
