Widow gains control of Steve McNair’s estate

Steve McNair’s widow, Mechelle McNair, has been awarded control of his estate.
The Associated Press reports that she filed court papers asking to be the administrator of Steve’s assets because he did not leave a will.  A judge granted her request, but now she had 60 days to inventory all of the former NFL player’s estate.
Mechelle stated that although she’s not sure exactly how much her husband was worth, she argues that his assets and earnings are "of sufficient size to be administered."
For now, she has seen to it that her sons with Steve, Tyler and Trenton McNair, are the heirs of his estate. Steve also has two other boys from a previous relationship, but there’s no word on whether they have been given anything.
Steve died July 4 after being shot twice in the head by his mistress Sahel Kazemi, who later shot herself. Their deaths have been ruled a murder-suicide.
