Ryan Tedder denies double dip

Ryan Tedder denies that Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone” is nothing more than a rip-off of Beyoncé’s “Halo.”
Like many, Kelly recently told MTV News that she thinks both songs sound a lot a like, and she’s hot about it, too.
"No one’s gonna be sittin’ at home, thinkin’ ‘Man, Ryan Tedder gave Beyoncé and Kelly the same track to write to,’ " she said. "No, they’re just gonna be sayin’ I ripped someone off. I called Ryan and said, ‘I don’t understand. Why would you do that?’"
Ryan openly disagreed with her opinion in a statement, arguing that both songs were completely independent works of his. “’Already Gone’ is one of the best song I’ve written or produced since ‘Bleeding Love’ and stands tall on it’s own merits apart from ‘Halo,’” he said.
Both “Halo” and “Already Gone” feature driving piano melodies with drums providing a slow back beat, but in Ryan’s opinion, the parallels end there.
“They are two entirely different songs conceptually, melodically and lyrically and I would never try to dupe an artist such as Kelly Clarkson or Beyoncé into recording over the same musical track, the idea is both hurtful and absurd.”
“I challenge people to listen and form their own opinions,” he defiantly added.  Well, we’re letting you take him up on that offer below. We won’t comment on whether we think Ryan tricked the divas, but let us know what you think.
