The United Negro College Fund has gotten a huge scholarship from the U.S. Department of Education.

The UNCF recently announced that it received more than $9 million in grant money to support the Institute for International Public Policy. The institute is one of several initiatives geared towards increasing minority presence in international services.

"Over the last 15 years UNCF Special Programs Corporation has had the honor to administer the IIPP Fellowship program," said UNCFSP president and CEO Aaron R. Andrews. “We are training the leaders of tomorrow in the field of international affairs."

With the grant, UNCF now has the necessary funds to keep the program running.

"It is a privilege to continue the stewardship of IIPP for the next five years as we work to broaden access to international education and training opportunities for underrepresented minority college students,” Aaron said.
