Sounds of Blackness back with new album

If you’re in or around Bloomington, Minnestoa. today you might want to swing pass the Mall of America to get a fresh, autographed copy of the new Sounds of Blackness album. The voice and instrument ensemble is back after two years with a universal message of love, peace and hope. Something we think that the whole world needs a does of right about now!

With an eclectic mash-up of R&B, gospel, jazz and soul beats, The 3rd Gift: Story, Song & Spirit, is an album that samples from some of music’s most cherished legends. It features arrangements from Marvin Gaye’s “God is Love,” and Billie Holiday’s “God Bless the Child.”

Other tracks include “The Path to Healing,” and “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.” Sounds of Blackness even has a song called “Audacity of Hope (We Are One),” dedicated to (and inspired by) President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, who have publicly declared they are avid listeners. It also includes an update of their classic song “Optimistic.”
