Kandi, Tiny mourn AJ Jewell

Kandi Burruss and Tiny are speaking out about the passing of A.J. Jewell.

AJ was killed in brawl outside the Atlanta strip club Body Tap, and a man named Frederick Richardson has been arrested for his death. Authorities say AJ died of massive head injuries. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Frederick, who was a Body Tap employee, is being charged with involuntary manslaughter.

AJ was engaged to Kandi of Bravo’s  “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” The two recently split up, but they remained good friends until the time of his death.

“I am devastated by the loss of A.J,” Kandi said in a statement. “His death comes on the heels of the death of my beloved Uncle Ralph and with both of them gone, my heart is heavy with grief.”

Contributing to her shock over her former love’s death was that Kandu had spoken to AJ just two hours before she got a call stating that he was in the hospital.

Never in a thousand years did I think it was going to be the last time I heard his voice. He was taken way too soon,” she stated. “There are so many things that I should have said to him, wanted to say to him, but now it’s too late."

T.I.’s fiancée Tiny, another of AJ’s acquaintances, also offered her thoughts on the tragic and sudden loss.

“AJ was a very sweet person who has been a friend for quite some time and had a lot of positive things taking place in his life for it all to be taken away from him so quickly,” said Tiny. “He will be missed, my family, and I will continue to keep his family and most of all his children in our prayers.”
