McNair mistress knew gun vendor

There are new details in the shooting death of ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair.

The Associated Press reports that mistress Sahel Kazemi was in communication with the person who sold her the gun that she killed Steve and herself with.

Authorities said Tuesday that Sahel and Adrian Gilliam had been in contact more than 200 times for at least three weeks leading up to the murder-suicide. Their findings show that that included over 49 calls and texts the day before the fatal shootings.

Adrian pleaded guilty to charges that he sold Sahel the gun on July 3. His attorney, Don Aaron, wouldn’t offer up any further details about his client’s correspondence with the athlete’s embattled mistress. However, Don doesn’t think these findings mean the case needs to be reopened.

“The Police Department has been aware that their relationship was more than we were initially led to believe,” the attorney said. “Given the totality of the evidence as we know it now … the conclusion of the murder-suicide classification has not changed.”

Investigators also released 50 text messages between Sahel and Steve where she claimed that she was on the verge of a breakdown. She also asked him for $2,000 so that she could pay off some bills, and the report states that the former baller did transfer some money to her account shortly after.
