‘Dancing With the Stars’ recap: November 16

    Couple: Mya and Dmitry Chaplin

    Dance: Waltz
This week Mya and Dmitry revealed their secrets for success, and it’s as simple as following the rules. The pair have employed four keys to stay on top of their game:

    1.    Don’t be late – Coming late to practice comes at a monetary cost.
    2.    Don’t mess up – Any mistake made in practice means you have to pump out five push ups (Mya must be diesel by now!).
    3.    Don’t slack off – Mya is always on her toes because breaks are no longer than 10 minutes.
    4.    Always listen to Dmitry – This is one is pretty self-explanatory
Lucky for Dmitry, Mya has that last rule down. It’s great that Mya listens to me, she’s one of the most dedicated people I’ve ever worked with,” he said. She’s so dedicated in fact that she sleeps in the studio. We’re pretty sure he was joking then, but you don’t see the other celebs hauling tents into practice. That’s focus!

Fast, Latin dances have always Team Dmya’s thing, but all the extra hard work they had to put in over the last week paid off in the Waltz. From the slow-motion trust fall to the flawless spin, it seemed like Mya and her partner were dancing on air

“I loved that,” said Judge Len Goodman, who is finally seeing why we’ve loved Team Dmya from jump. “I thought it was an absolute joy to watch.”
Although Judge Bruno agreed and critiqued the routine as “love set to music,” Judge Carrie Ann Inaba wanted to see a little more connection in Mya and Dmitry’s holds.
But despite Carrie Ann’s minor suggestions, Mya and her partner still waltzed out of round one with 28 points
