Marion Jones to join WNBA

Disgraced track star Marion Jones is looking to make a comeback and a career shift.
Next time we see Marion, she could be running up and down the court for the WNBA. According to The New York Times, the former Olympian, began training Monday for a spot on the San Antonio Silver Star.
She’s reportedly been brushing up on her hoop skills since October with the team’s assistant coach and head trainer. This would actually be a return to the game for Marion, who last played basketball in 1997. She also played for the University of North Carolina as a point guard during 1993-94 season.
“This is a second chance for me,” she told of her comeback. "I missed competitiveness. I missed the challenges of participating in sports."
The 34-year-old athlete left a Texas federal prison about 15 months ago. In 2007, she had been sentenced to six months in lock-up after it was discovered that she used steroids before the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics and lied about it.
