Michelle Williams reprises Roxie role

Apparently Michelle Williams did so well playing Roxie Hart in London that she’s bringing the act to Broadway.

BV Buzz reports that Michelle is set to knock ‘em dead (literally) while starring in Chicago on Broadway. She’ll be playing the main merry murderess Starting February 8, and her stint runs through mid-April.

As stated, Michelle played Roxie this summer in London’s West End, making her the first Black woman to do so.  Back then, when asked about the possibility of playing Roxie stateside, she said, "I would absolutely love to do Chicago on Broadway! That’s definitely a wish that I’d love to see come true."

Hmm..we guess wishes do come true if you can sing like Michelle. We don’t know about you, but we will definitely be buying tickets for the show.
Michelle is no stranger to the bright lights of Broadway, though: She played the title role in Disney‘s Aida, and most recently she took up the role of Suge Avery in The Color Purple.
