Rihanna’s latest move involves a topless cover for GQ magazine.
Rihanna let go of her inhibitions and of her clothes for GQ this month. Not only does the 21-year-old singer appear topless on the cover of the magazine, but the interview is more revealing than previous high-profile appearances on "Good Morning America" and "20/20."
"It’s relieving," said Rihanna of her past relationship with Chris Brown, "because it was built up for so long, and all these thoughts and emotions have been running through my mind for the past eight months. And now it’s like I finally get to let go and move on."
And according to Rih Rih, it was important for fans to talk about her music, not the violence.
"I wanted people to move on with me," she said, "’cause the last big thing they know about me is That Night. And I don’t want that to be what people define me as."
Beyond just an image change, music helped the "Russian Roulette" singer heal.
"Nobody [helped me]. Really just music. And working," said Rihanna. "Cause I didn’t really want to be around anybody, for them to stare at me and stuff, and feel sorry for me.
"The physical pain comes and it goes," she adds. "The bruises fade away. But the thing that stays with you is the emotional scars."
The January issue of GQ hits stands this month.
