Precious is up for three huge Golden Globe awards, capping off a stellar year for the indepent flick.

Winning a Golden Globe is kind of a big deal, and independent film Precious has been nominated for one of the top prizes, Best Motion Picture – Drama.

Of course the stars of the film didn’t do too badly, either. Actress Gabourey Sidibe, who plays the film’s title character, is up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama. This is her first Golden Globe nomination.

She’s up against Emily Blunt, Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren and Carey Mulligan in that category. But bump all that , Gabby was more excited about who announced her nomination.

"Oh, my God, Justin Timberlake just said my name," she told People. "I’m so very excited to come into this because I’m usually on the other side. I’m a fangirl and I watch these things happen, but they don’t happen to me!"

Meanwhile Mo’Nique is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Mary, Precious’ abusive mother. This is her first nomination as well.

Also in the running for a Golden Globe is Morgan Freeman. He got a nod for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, earned for his portrayal of Nelson Mandela in Invictus.

And despite the fact that it’s just been released nationwide, Disney’s The Princess and the Frog is up for Best Animated Feature Film.
