Mo’Nique’s winning weekend

Mo’Nique snagged two awards this weekend for her breakthrough role in role in Precious.
Mo took her acceptance speech for a spin at the 15thAnnual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards Friday when she won the award for Supporting Actress Friday. Not a bad start to the weekend if you ask us!
Her co-stars Gabourey Sidibe and Paula Patton were on hand to offer their support and congrats on the win.
From her wardrobe to her richly deserved award, Mo’Nique shined at the Golden Globes on Sunday. We’ve been waiting for a while to see whether Mo would take home the prize for Best Dramatic Supporting Actress in and we didn’t have to wait long to find out as that category was one of the first to be presented.
The comedian, who is normally never at a loss for words, seemed truly humbled by the honor as she delivered her acceptance speech in a shakey voice. Mo’Nique wasn’t quite sure what she was going to say, but she made sure to thank the people who helped her win the award.
“Lee Daniels, the world gets a chance to see how brilliant you are. You are a brilliant, fearless, amazing director who would not waver, and thank you for trusting me to be Mary Jones in this movie,” she said before turning her attention to the star of Precious. “To Gabby, sister, I am in awe of you. Thank you for letting me play with you.”

“I celebrate this award with every person that’s ever been touched. It’s now time to tell. And it’s okay,” Mo’Nique said in closing.  Watch her full speech below.
