Goodbye, Teddy Pendergrass

Family, friends, and fans alike will get a chance to remember, and mourn, the legendary Teddy Pendergrass at a public viewing this afternoon.

From his days with Harold Melvin and Blue Notes, belting out classics like “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” and “Wake Up Everybody,” to his multi-platinum solo career that produced the classics “Love TKO” and “Turn Off the Lights,” Teddy kept his fans in love and enchanted with his smooth lyrics and smoother vocals.

The first Black male to have five consecutive multi-platinum albums, Teddy was a pioneer in business that he loved. With a total of five Grammy nominations for songs that helped build his stellar career, and an American Music Award, this charismatic crooner gave us tunes that are sure to last through the ages, as he is sure to live on through all who will miss him.

The viewing will take place today, January 22, at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia from noon to 8 p.m.
