Zoe Saldana onboard for ‘Avatar II’

Between Star Trek and Avatar, 2009 was a very good year for Zoe Saldana and she is eager to do it all again.
The actress recently told E! News that she would jump at the chance to Neytiri in Avatar, and she’s willing to wait.

"Jim has proven once again that even though he takes a decade between his projects, he promises to deliver you the most amazing adventure ever," Zoe said. “I’m just grateful that between Star Trek II and Avatar II, I’m employed.”
Although audiences are clamoring for an Avatar sequel already, director James Cameron still needs time to come up with a script.

"We just have to come up with a great story, which we haven’t done yet," he said. "I have a rough story, but you need to make a script, so that might take some time. Don’t start going to buy your tickets."
While buzz of a possible sequel has been circulating, there’s no telling how long it will take to produce. Remember, Avatar had been in production for years before it hit the big screen. Once it got into theaters the box office smash has quickly become the highest grossing movie of all time, even beating out Titanic.
Thankfully, we’ll only have to wait until 2012 for a sequel to Star Trek when she’ll reprise her role of Uhura.

In the meantime, Zoe will stay busy as the spokeswoman for Avon’s newest fragrance, Eternal Magic.
